The Surface Design Show (4-6 February 2014) is virtually upon us again and like the many visiting architects, our entrance matting team at COBA flooring will be closely watching the latest trends in surface materials. The Future Thinking area focusing on material innovation and creativity looks especially interesting.
With entrance matting, it goes without saying that the type of material used is pivotal to its performance and durability in certain locations. In fact, anyone unsure of flooring material characteristics should check out our guidance published in the COBA Knowledge Centre, aptly titled ‘The Material World of Entrance Matting’. It gives handy guidelines on the properties of entrance mat materials.
Texture and colour make a great impact, and interior designers use this to dramatic effect in both domestic and commercial properties. One product in COBA’s entrance matting range that delivers this in abundance is our plan.b entrance system. The surface material comprises a combination of high quality mini nylon brushes that are fitted neatly into flexible PVC strips, which are then linked together via stainless steel wires.
Touching the brushes, you instantly get an impression of how effective this entrance mat is in scraping dirt and grit from footwear.
