The Health & Safety Event launches this week at the Birmingham NEC and starts today, Tuesday 22nd to Thursday 24th March. The exhibition is an informative event to attend for anyone responsible for workplace safety.
There will be 200 exhibitors from around the UK and 6,000 visitors will attend over the three days. The Health & Safety Event is the ideal place for networking with people within the industry, responsible for health and safety in the workplace.
The good news is that the event is not only centrally located, it is also free to attend. There will be lots to see and do with over 40 conference and seminar sessions.
Although we don’t have a stand at the event, our safety matting team are keen to see the new product innovations and services for the workplace health and safety industry.
Accidents in the workplace are costly to individuals (both in terms of personal suffering and sometimes financial loss), and are also costly to employers. The HSE reported that in Great Britain, 611,000 injuries took place at work and 27.3 million working days were lost due to workplace injury and work related illness during 2014/15.
On the subject of accidents, whether slipping in the workplace or MSD related ailments, we ask, ‘is it time to review your safety flooring?’

What’s new at The Health and Safety Event for 2016?
This year one of the new features is the Lions’ Lair. This theatre will showcase innovative products and services. Exhibitors will be given 5-minute slots to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.
There will also be a new Education Pavilion. This area will give visitors access to knowledge for improving health and safety in the workplace, including improving training and education standards.
