About
Holyrood Park House is a prime multi-office space building close to Edinburgh city centre constructed in 2003. Located on Holyrood Street with views to Holyrood Park, the building facilitates multiple businesses with some 400-500 staff using the main entrance foyer on a daily basis. The entrance has to withstand footfall not just from staff arriving/departing work, but also during their lunch hour too. Naturally, such footfall necessitates a heavy-duty, functional entrance matting system.
The Installation
Plan.a aluminium entrance matting from COBA Flooring was specified to replace a similar product that had been in place for some 13 years, when the building had first opened. Property and facilities management business, MJ Mapp organised the installation in conjunction with ECG Facilities Services, which proved to be a straightforward refit into an existing recessed matwell in the main entrance to Holyrood Park House.
About Plan.a Aluminium Entrance Matting
Manufactured in the UK by COBA Flooring, Plan.a aluminium entrance matting is custom made to order to suit each individual installation. The heavy-duty system is perfect for commercial buildings where appearance, durability and dirt barrier performance are important.
Plan.a features aluminium profiles and there is a choice of either 20mm carpet or PVC scraper inserts. Carpet options include Alba (nylon carpet) in charcoal, blue, grey or brown and Needlepunch carpet in either grey or charcoal. Customers can choose from one, or a combination of inserts.
The PVC linking joints gives the system flexibility for ease of handling and fitting. The system is available in low or standard profile, in open or closed construction, with a range of aluminium finishing accessories. Custom-printed logomats can also be incorporated into the design.
